Saturday: 9am update: snow flurries have slowed and the sun is coming out. Clouds are lifting and there is a beautiful blue sky showing through. Temps are up to 15 degrees and the forecast is for temps in the low 20s later today. Should be a great day of skiing.

Overnight temperatures dropped into the teens and and snowed 2-3″. We have grooming in progress at 7am and it will be nice skiing on groomed trails. 20km groomed for classic and skate. The surface is frozen granular mixed with packed powder. Wax is blue.

In the backcountry there is a hard base with a couple inches of powder on top.

Check out the feature about the event in the Burlington Free Press … and see 2/28 Section B for full article.

I had a great afternoon ski on Friday- conditions on groomed trails were soft and fun for skate skiing. In the later afternoon it was about 40 degrees and skiing without gloves felt so good. It did rain on Friday afternoon, and we still have a huge base of snow. -Liz
