Nature and Travel Photography by Sheri Larsen

We are pleased to have a new photography exhibit in the Nordic Center Gallery during the month of February. Sheri Larsen, a Bolton Nordic regular, is a nature and travel photographer from Essex, Vermont. She always has a digital camera with her – whether she’s going for a walk in Vermont or traveling to distant points in the U.S., Canada or other countries. In some photos Sheri Focuses on the details in nature, while in others she tries to capture the grandeur of a particularly scenic location.

Sheri has exhibited her work at the Champlain Valley Art Gallery and the Burlington South End Art Hop. Wildflower and other photographs of hers were published in the book Nature Walks in Northwest Vermont and the Champlain Valley by Elizabeth Bassett. In addition, several of her photographs have appeared in local media.

Lots of Snow!

It’s hard to believe how much snow we have up here considering the bottom of the access road still has grass showing, but it’s true…conditions are fantastic! With over a foot of new snow in the last 7 days, and a base depth of 12″ to 34″ depending on elevation, classic and backcountry skiing is great,  so come on up and see (ski) for yourself.

Pre-sunset visit from the Ski Maven

“I don’t know if you call it cabin fever or just plain old work stress, but by mid-afternoon today I needed to get outside and exercise! I convinced the Skimeister to join me for an end-of-the-afternoon classic ski at Bolton Valley Nordic Center.

We arrived and saw that we would not be alone in our late-day ski. Ski team members from the University of Vermont and Colchester High School were on the trails, too. We set out for a nice loop out on Maple Loop and only passed a handful of kids.”  Click here to read more from the Ski Maven.
